Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part time (32 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital.
The successful candidate will join an established motivated and supportive group of physicians working in Acute and General Medicine. The successful applicant will work in two clinical areas:-
Medical admission units beds (MAU) (on call overnight) where there is a highly visible Consultant presence offering senior support to training grade staff, with an emphasis on improving patient care through rapid Consultant-led inter-professional assessment.
Downstream medical wards. The post-holder will also be expected to deliver care to patients in the downstream medicine wards and care for any boarding patients under the care of Acute/General Medicine, undertaking regular ward rounds working with the clinical teams to ensure a safe and timely discharge plan for patients.
The department also has an MAU trolley assessment area and a Same Day Emergency Care area and there may be opportunity for a successful applicant to provide some input into these areas.
