Return to Practice Nursing and Midwifery programme

This programme is an exciting collaboration with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Glasgow Caledonian University

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Glasgow Caledonian University are excited to deliver the employer-led model for Return to Practice, enabling previously registered Nurses and Midwives to return to the sector.

You will have access to a blend of online and face-to-face learning and teaching and undertake a practice learning experience within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to refresh your knowledge and skills to enable you to return to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register.

You will be recruited to the programme jointly between NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Glasgow Caledonian University.  Your programme fees will be paid in full and you will be employed as a Nursing or Midwifery Return to Practice student by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde on a temporary contract throughout the Return to Practice programme and paid at Agenda for Change Band 2.

You will complete a total of 300 or 450 hours of practice which will be dependent on the length and circumstances for the lapse of your registration.  This will be discussed individually and agreed with each candidate at interview.  The practice learning hours you complete each week can be flexible, full time or part time: either 22.5, 30.0 or 37.5 hours per week.  You will be a supernumerary member of staff and be working in the capacity of a Nursing or Midwifery student whilst undertaking the Return to Practice Programme.

You will have the opportunity to find the confidence and make the connections to get back to the career you loved.

Applications are invited from Nurses and Midwives with a lapse of registration for the Return to Practice programme commencing September 2022

Entry requirements:
