CE106715- ST4 LAT in Cardiology in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Job description

Applications are invited for the post of LAT Specialty Registrar 4 in Cardiology to start in August 2022 for 6 months only. This post will be based solely at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.  

We are looking for candidates who hold full MRCP (UK) and have existing experience at IMT3 level or above, preferably, but not necessarily in Cardiology. Higher level clinical Cardiology experience would be desirable, but not essential.  

Our department is recognised as friendly and supportive, scoring consistently highly in yearly Registrar feedback, and it has an exemplary body of experienced and dedicated trainers, and in almost all areas of contemporary Cardiovascular Disease management.  

There is Consultant and supporting expertise in:  

  • All General Cardiology areas, including clinics, in-patient ward and CCU care.  
  • The full breadth of Echocardiography, in association with Physiologist colleagues. 
  • Cardiac CT, Cardiac MRI, and Nuclear Cardiology.  
  • Coronary angiography & PCI, with all contemporary techniques, and TAVI.   
  • Advanced Electrophysiology, and the full range of pacemaker therapies.  
  • Obstetric Cardiology, ICC, and Adult Congenital Heart Disease.  

After discussion with the candidates existing skills and experience a personal development plan will be formulated and agreed. The appointee will receive at least basic training in many aspects of Cardiology, covering the Speciality Training Curriculum for Cardiology, at ST4 level; and possibly above, if appropriate, under the evaluation of the clinical supervising Consultants.  

This post will not involve any attachments to Acute Medicine or other medical areas.  

The salary scale for this post will be £34,901 - £54,879 per annum and the contracted hours for this post are 40 per week.
