We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Global Treasury Digital and Data Officer, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

Working within the Global Treasury Strategy, Execution and Controls (SE&C) team reporting to the Global Treasury Chief Digital and Data Officer, the role holder will support all Global Treasury Platform, Digital and Data related matters, helping drive the business forward by leading platform, analytics, data and innovation strategy, harnessing support from Treasury, Markets and Finance colleagues in achieving successful outcomes for Treasury.

In this role, you will:

  • Defining strategy and enabling effective Treasury Executive Management decisioning
  • Work in close collaboration with Treasury departments and other key SE&C functions across CAO and CIG, Controls, Digital and Data and Regional Chief Operations Office (COO) and Business management teams in support of the overall Treasury business agenda
  • Be responsible for ensuring effective digital, analytics and data governance structures, processes, cost management and controls are in place and meet Group standards.
  • Partner with Platform, Digital, Innovation and Data teams outside Treasury to define and implement strategy
  • Engage with external industry innovation initiatives on Treasury-related topics
  • Support the Global Treasury Executive Committee (ExCo) for the delivery of overall business objectives as set out in the annual Global performance scorecard
  • Ensure the business operates with the confinements of the agreed risk appetite and in full compliance with all Group and Regulatory requirements
  • Ensure and promote sharing and adoption of best practice / lessons learned / continual improvement ethos
Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree level education preferably with a professional qualification and with substantial experience in markets or bank treasury business or related industries, either within HSBC or a relevant market competitor
  • Experience of managing platform strategy and related change and innovation programmes via a business-led model, as part of a diversified business portfolio
  • Experience of working with functional areas (IT, Finance / PC, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Audit) in a business management, transformation or platform ownership role
  • Good understanding of treasury operations and banking issues – Capital, liquidity, funding, cash management, structural interest rate risk, transfer pricing
  • Evidence of a strategic mindset to identify and gain support for innovative initiatives to maintain and enhance competitive position
  • Proven experience and ability in resolving complex issue through leadership, influence and negotiation
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills; strong track record in engaging, challenging and influencing business performance in a large global bank or the financial industry
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with senior management
