We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Conference Events Manger, working within our Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business.

A high level overview of the role is: The end-to-end delivery of industry related business conferences covering both virtual and physical platforms from inception to day-to-day running of the actual event including; branding, website management, preparation of all comms, project, venue, onsite delivery, production and supplier management.  Delivering conferences across a mainly UK base however occasionally assisting internationally you will liaise with the wider Global Banking business to build strong and lasting relationships with stakeholders and our suppliers. Using your judgment under pressure to ensure no compromise to quality or compliance.

The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office based working at HSBC offices at 8 Canada Square, London

In this role you will

  • Execute multiple conferences, with varying deadlines in a pressurised environment aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure all conferences are run in a professional manner whilst adhering to end-to-end finance process
  • Provide advice and support to the business on most efficient and cost effective way to achieve maximum meeting/presentation opportunities with clients.
  • Build relationships with various businesses including Capital Markets, Global Research, Equity Sales and Global Investor Access to understand their needs and requirements
  • Build relationships with various suppliers to ensure all logistic and production requirements can be met along with our other business partners locally, regionally and globally
Requirements

To be successful, you should meet the following requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of the end to end management of BUSINESS CONFERENCES, ideally in both a virtual and physical capacity.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Have experience of managing budgets
  • Very strong organisation skills with high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills along with the ability to build relationships with your stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
  • Flexibility in relation to working patterns and travel as required for live conferences
  • Ideally worked within the financial services industry
