Personal Assistant - Heartstart Officer - Resuscitation in Glasgow

Heartstart is a community project which lies within the acute sector of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, joining forces with the Resuscitation Team, under the umbrella of Orthopaedics Clyde.   The aim is to promote an increased awareness of by-stander CPR and life threatening emergencies within the community, workplace and schools, giving people the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver basic emergency life support if the need arises. 


The Post holder will :

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Heartstart Nurse Lead including coordinating all training courses and maintaining an up to date training database​​​​​​​
  • Provide efficient and high quality  support to Heartstart Nurse Lead ensuring the smooth and efficient running of administration in their area of responsibility. 
  • Provide a full range of administrative services, including maintaining filing and document management systems, creating and maintaining diary systems, creating, processing and extracting information from databases, creating and designing tables, preparation and design of patient information leaflets, PowerPoint presentations and general word processing.  
  • Maintain contact with over 160 community volunteers, maintaining good communication, ensuring their training and resources are up to date, looking after their health and safety and mental well-being, making sure the feel valued and appreciated.  

Heartstart covers the area of Argyll and Clyde and visits approximately 70% of schools, a good geographically knowledge is necessary to ensure maximum training is delivered in remote areas minimising excess travel.  Heartstart instructor to assist with training very occasionally.
