Job description
Occupational Therapy within Critical Care is a developing role in hospitals throughout the UK, with the Critical Care/Major Trauma Occupational Therapy service being established in Aberdeen in 2018.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team within Critical Care at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The candidate will be required to have excellent assessment skills to provide a specialist Occupational Therapy service to a designated caseload incorporating client assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The candidate will work within a multi-professional and multiagency setting to ensure co-ordinated care for clients.
Within the Occupational Therapy Service there are established support systems with for supervision, appraisal and clinical & peer support. There will also be the opportunity to guide and support more junior therapists, support workers and students.
As the service is continuing to develop there will be the opportunity to actively participate in service improvement.
This post was initially for 30 hours however full time or part time hours can be negotiated. If the post is fulltime it can be negotiated for the successful candidate to be part of the ARI/Woodend rotation.
