Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Finance on the Cloud is a multi year programme which will rationalise operational processes, automate data and report production, to deliver comprehensive data to our internal and external stakeholders for analysis and reporting.
The programme, which started in 2020, involves the migration of core Finance data and processes to the cloud.
Due to the nature of the programme the cloud based solutions being delivered need to be highly scalable, reliable, resilient and innovative, involving the highest standards of technical engineering combined with a quick time to market.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist. In order to design a sustainable architecture that will allow consistent reporting through a stable platform, Group Finance are looking for a Solution Architect to work as part an Agile Team developing Technical Enhancements and common capabilities for the Finance Cloud Platform. Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment where there may be no existing template or proven path to success to follow. They must be capable of working on novel solutions and supporting delivery to a wide range of technical and business facing communities to ensure buy-in.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a subject matter expert for IT Solutions within Finance domain
- Instrumental in the design and delivery of architectures for business solutions through the solutions design process.
- Ensures that non-functional requirements are clearly understood, rationale for holistic design & its components are provided, designs are peer reviewed and approved through the relevant Architecture Governance processes
- Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits/impacts.
- Provide a consultancy role to IT and business teams.
- Customer focus – improves customer service, effectively engages customers, colleagues and stakeholders to build a trust-based relationship and deliver a connected service. Keeps up to date with HSBC strategy and external trends, using the information to enhance customer service.
- Strengthening stakeholder relationships, builds relationships. Uses organizational knowledge and contacts to help stakeholders like HOST Managers & Architects, HOST IT Domain Leads and Cyber Security Risk Managers to maximize networking opportunities, uses relationship management skills/tools to responsibly influence decisions and stakeholder advocacy.
- Ensure that the highest level of quality is provided for all activities and products.
- Working with an Agile Scrum to help design and review new products or new features for existing products to ensure they meet the target architecture
- Be able to manage their own time and workload
- Effectively work with diverse and widely distributed teams
- Collaborate closely with a scrum team to develop novel solutions
- Be able to manage priorities and work from a product backlog.
- Be able to advise others on technology solution and explain designs to technical and non-technical audiences
