The opportunity
Become an EY Leader in public cloud demonstrating insights, knowledge and direction on all aspects of cloud adoption, including strategy, operating model and architecture. Share these insights with our Financial Services clients and help them navigate the journey to scale public cloud adoption safely and effectively. Expand your knowledge by working within a team of experienced, industry leading cloud experts.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Work with the Cloud team to define holistic go to market offerings around cloud strategy, target operating model and architecture. Proactively support client conversations to identify where our services can help address the real challenges they are facing.
  • Support the relationship with EY’s cloud provider alliances, shaping joint solutions to address our clients challenges
  • Lead the client engagements helping to shape a safe and accelerated journey to cloud, engaging with senior stakeholders and work with the wider Cloud team.
  • Proactively support internal initiatives to build assets in relation to Cloud strategy, migration, cost management, centre of excellence constructs or architecture, combining your expertise with industry leading practises.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • A natural technical leader that is proficient in articulating the benefits and challenged of cloud adoption in Financial Services, including senior non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with Senior stakeholders with the aims to pragmatic solutions to address technical and business challenges in adopting cloud.
  • Identifying opportunities for and securing new business, including leading proposals and bid teams.
  • Ability to operate independently or in teams, ensuring the outcomes meet high level of quality and are relevant to the clients needs
  • Experience in directing a geographically distributed delivery team on all aspects of cloud, and to engage with client stakeholders to oversee implementation progress. 
  • Work with all key cloud service offerings to provide our clients with a holistic cloud experience, bringing the best of multiple areas of EY.

 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

Mandatory experience

  • Experience of working in cloud adoption elements such as defining cloud strategies, shaping and rolling out cloud operating models or defining cloud architectures across the financial services sector with a preference for delivering consulting services to financial services organisations. 
  • Experience of working with cloud-based technologies and accelerators which can be leveraged to support the journey to the public cloud.
  • Experience in shaping and supporting the enrolment of cloud-based target operating model to manage cloud effectively across the organisation
  • Consulting background and ability to articulate cloud adoption elements at senior stakeholders level

 

Desirable experience

  • Certifications across major Cloud Service Providers.
  • Experience in scaled cloud migration datacentre exit programmes.
  • Experience in defining and articulating business cases for cloud adoption, covering the definition of monetary and non-monetary benefits.
  • Background in Technology Architecture, Infrastructure or Operations roles
  • Experience of working within a DevOps environment including agile and CICD and implementing security within the development processes.
  • Experience of shaping or implementing cloud cost management solutions.
  • Hands-on engineering background for cloud architectures and implementations.
  • Experience of PaaS, SaaS, IaaS cloud deployments. 
  • Experience of Hybrid, Public and Private cloud architectures, and integration of a Risk and Controls framework across these existing systems with top cloud providers.
  • Understanding of the UK regulations on cloud adoption for Financial Services organisations.
