Our EY SAP team is focused on working with our clients to leverage these SAP innovations and create business value. We are looking for an individual with a proven Test Management background who can support our clients on their business transformation journeys and large-scale SAP implementation projects.

 

The successful candidate will be a business-focused Test Management professional who can help us build a rapidly growing programme management capability in EY. We are looking for an individual who has been there and done it, understands and can articulate the importance of a well-planned, well managed and well executed testing strategy which helps guarantee the quality in the delivery of transformational projects for our clients.

 

Your key responsibilities
At Manager level you will lead testing work streams within complex programmes and project engagements working directly within EY programme management delivery teams and senior stakeholders of leading UK businesses. In your role as an EY test manager you will have responsibility for delivering all aspects of testing for our projects and transformation programmes within our client base.
 
You will therefore be:

  • Highly motivated
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to convey testing strategy content to team members, peers and business stakeholders
  • An individual that leads their team and area of responsibility by example
  • Has SAP Functional Modules (FI, SD, ISU, SuccessFactors) in S4 Hana & ECC testing experience
  • Review of SAP requirements, specifications and technical design documents to help provide feedback and effort estimations
  • Creation of detailed, comprehensive and well-structured SAP Test Strategy design and plans
  • Support development and execution of automation scripts within sprint teams
  • Effective defect management through JIRA
  • Liaise with internal and vendor teams (e.g. developers, solution architects and project managers) to identify system requirements and operations

 

Skills and attributes for success
You will have knowledge and experience of the following:

  • Requisite experience on S/4 HANA testing
  • Experienced in writing detailed test scripts, prepare test scenarios, write test scripts, and perform end-to-end testing.
  • A strong and proven background in the successful delivery of testing workstreams within large and complex programme engagements in the SAP domain 
  • Experience of leading teams and third parties to robustly test solutions through the establishment of clear testing strategies, strong management of the execution of testing phases often to meet challenging time scales and to build confidence within the business to accept solutions into service
  • Ability to provide clear communication to client peer groups and senior business stakeholders
  • Have a detailed working knowledge of project delivery approaches including both traditional waterfall and agile methods and what testing strategies can be applied to ensure a successful outcome for both EY and its clients

 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Been responsible for test management processes on a minimum of two end to end SAP program engagements 
  • Demonstrated ability in leading test phases which encompass teams from both technical and business disciplines
  • Experience in managing and delivering the test execution in line with approved project standards, plans, processes and tools
  • Experience in providing best practice guidance on the production of testing scenarios and detailed test scripts
  • Experience of defining processes for the management of defects, monitoring of progress during test execution, resolution and retesting after fixing
  • Experience of working with other workstream Managers to ensure development work, test data, test documentation and associated pre-test execution activities are planned to complete in a timely manner in advance of the testing process
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build ‘Trusted Adviser’ relationships
  • Willingness to travel as required in relation to working at Client Sites on specific engagements   

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience of automated testing tools and test management software 
  • Experience of the planning and execution of volume and stress testing phases
  • Have led testing phases which encompass delivery workstreams which use a mixture of On-site, Off-site, Near-shore and Off-shore delivery capabilities and the challenges this can present
  • A high-level working knowledge of some of the key end to end business processes across business functions such as purchase to pay
  • Experience of the management of testing within a programme using Waterfall, Hybrid-Agile and Agile methods (e.g. Scrum, Lean, Kanban)

You will be comfortable leading a test management workstream, where you operate collaboratively with your EY colleagues and clients to help ensure the delivery of a robustly tested solution which gains business acceptance and helps manage the impact to the business during service introduction

Technical skills
A good working knowledge of testing tools and approaches
 
Market/ Sector knowledge
Demonstrable sector or industry working knowledge in any of the key markets of Energy and Resources, Health Sciences and Wellness, Consumer, TMT and Government Local or National would be a distinct advantage.
