Position Summary:

 

The Resource Management (RM) function in UK and Ireland (UK&I) focuses on optimising people productivity to drive business performance, quality, employee experiences and engagement through client, financial, people and societal services.  

 

The Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a function of RM with specialist capability in innovation, technology, data analytics, project and change management. The CoE focuses on:

 

  • Ensuring RM team capabilities can respond to Service Line (SL) needs
  • Deliver technology enablement and improve data quality and insight for better decisions
  • Drive offshoring and automation of RM activities and services
  • Drive investigation and analysis of new innovative technologies and projects

 

Reporting to the UK&I RM Director, the CoE Lead is responsible for bringing external insight, setting strategy, and leading a team focused on continual improvement through technology, innovation, and operational excellence.

 

What you will do:

Scope of the position

  • Set CoE and RM strategy for analytics, special projects, technology enhancement and process efficiency with a focus on continual improvement and operational excellence
  • Partner with RM and business leadership to identify and prioritising special projects and technology enhancements for CoE delivery 
  • Influence the RM function, business, and firm leadership in adopting systems and processes that will enhance service delivery for the function
  • Accountable for the offshore team, designing and transforming the scope of services delivered
  • Represent UK&I RM as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Global projects
  • Represent and present RM agenda in cross function projects such as Hybrid Working
  • Act as conduit between other functions to ensure RM agenda is appropriately represented in firm wide strategy and special projects
  • Externally network to understand industry trends and bring external insight for creative thinking and to drive innovation in the function
  • Harmonise the CoE practices across all Resourcing teams to create firm wide enhancements and efficiency in the way RM services are delivered
  • Manage CoE and project budgets prioritising appropriately to ensure the greatest return on investments
  • Present commercially driven business cases for technology investment with focus on efficiency and value creation
  • Manage budget allocation for CoE services and technology
  • Create a culture of continual improvement, operational excellence, and quality throughout the function
  • Overall accountability for all projects delivered from the CoE
  • Manage the performance reporting of the function in relation to KPIs and benefit realisation

 

Relationships

  • Work with the RM Director to drive actions that will improve the KPI performance of the function
  • Work with the RM Transformation Lead to identify and drive CoE deliverables into SL Resource Deployment teams
  • Work with the SL Resourcing Leads to understand the future workforce landscape of each SL and ensure the CoE is equipped to respond to the changing needs of the business
  • Lead on the service relationships with non-UK&I teams to deliver CoE services
  • Lead, coach, and counsel a team of CoE professionals that include Data Analysts, Projects Managers and Consultants in addition to overseeing multicultural project delivery teams

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Deep subject matter expertise in BI, programme management or operational excellence, e.g., process redesign, future technologies
  • A strong thought leader who creates a culture of innovation and change
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to operate in a senior environment
  • Strong people management and leadership experience with ability to lead multicultural high performing teams
  • Proven experience of leading a similar CoE function preferred
