Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

 

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

 

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced Platform Owner to join HSBC Technology.

 

Brief overview of the business areas

This is role owns the HTS (HSBC Trade Solutions) platform for GTRF (Global Trade and Receivable Finance) Function under the umbrella of Wholesale Technology for GTRF business. The HTS is the Trade engine supporting staff and customer channels by delivering trade and product services to our customers and staff.

The role will be the owner of this platform from owning the design, development, delivery as well as maintaining the live services/platform. The product is a vendor product which HSBC has customized to suit its customer needs and HSBC owns the read access as well as in future may have the write license of the code/product. The role fulfills the delivery of functionality from the CGI – HTS (TPS) product as per HSBC requirements on time, with the right Quality. The scope of this role will include functionality that TPS will deliver, the interfaces (Incl. APIs) the product will expose to the Customer Channel, Staff Channel, Back office Integration systems, the reports the platform will deliver, and the configurations (Dynamic or Fixed) the platform will keep for validations and the processes the platform will trigger.

 

What you will be doing;

  • Understand & document the design and functioning (coding) of HTS engine for various Wholesale IT products & its respective journeys interfacing with various HSBC components including financial/non financial and online/batch transactions. Also cover the config and database processes at HTS level
  • Set up a team/POD at HSBC level who can support above bullet point during design, development, testing and post prod support
  • Be the ITSO for the HTS as a platform covering performance, evergreening, audit and service sustainability requirements
  • Be the TPEM for CGI related activities
  • Validate the delivery from the CGI-HTS platform against the release scope against both functional and non-functional requirements based on the agreed acceptance criteria (mentioned in requirements or on the Signed off functional design).
  • Validate the technical design descriptions that is either provided by CGI or created by HSBC with the information gained
  • Establish the right engagement and the ways of working between CGI and HSBC – through an aligned operating model and a communication plan.
  • Ensure Quality of the deliverables (Functional & Non Functional) from the HTS platform, and further resolve outstanding or open defects as per agreed SLAs. The idea is to keep the defects and defect turn around cycles to be the least
  • Change assessments and controls on introduction of new functionality, extension of existing functionality and defect fixes
  • Establish an API registry that the platform will exposure and ensure architecture and the engineering design description for the APIs
  • Measure deliverables by CGI, and offer the metrics for review at an agreed frequency with CGI and to HSBC Governance
Requirements

What you will bring to the role; 

 

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

 

  • Proven track record in delivering large and complex program and in depth Domain and Technical knowledge to govern engineering services with the right quality
  • Thirdparty/Vendor engagement experience
  • Engineering designing & service management experience
  • Sound understanding of business profit and cost drivers
  • Ability to come up with Innovative solutions to achieve engineering excellence.
  • Strong planning, management, negotiation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to articulate the changes and the change impact across the GTRF technology landscape.
  • A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
  • Built effective networks across business areas, Product Suppliers, Service providers, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same 
  • Wholesale (CMB) product & business operations knowledge will be a big plus

 

This role will primarily be based in London or another UK base location, some travel may be required.
