As Hospital Director, you will lead and manage a diverse multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative workforce, ensuring excellent care is delivered and operational performance is maintained, while ensuring quality and financial targets are met.

Wellesley Hospital provides care and treatment to men and women with mental health conditions or learning disabilities in a modern and purpose-built hospital with low and medium secure environments. The hospital is located in Wellington, just off the M5 in Somerset within easy reach from Taunton, Bridgewater and Exeter.

Our Hospital Director role involves:

• Participating in the local Provider collaborative to identify and develop appropriate care and treatment pathways for the South West
• Continuing to develop commercial opportunities with purchasers and referrers
• Ensure quality and financial targets are met, and facilitate the development of quality healthcare services, ensuring that they respond to the changing needs of purchasers and service users, and also reflect market trends and evidence-based practice
• As a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to the strategic development of the hospital, ensuring adherence to the hospital’s objectives and business plan
• Promote and enhancing the hospital and the wider region’s reputation for care and service.

To be successful as Hospital Director, you will need:

• An excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector (essential), together with an understanding of mental health issues and a passion for improving clinical quality and patient care.
• Strong commercial acumen, in order to support successful service delivery and development, people management, budget control, business development, and revenue generation.
• An inclusive, open and supportive management style balanced with strong leadership, is a critical factor in the success of this role, in order to provide direction and implement change.
