Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

 

Role Description:

Finance on the Cloud is a multi year programme which will rationalise operational processes, automate data and report production, to deliver comprehensive data to our internal and external stakeholders for analysis and reporting. 
The programme, which started in 2020, involves the migration of core Finance data and processes to the cloud.

Due to the nature of the programme the cloud based solutions being delivered need to be highly scalable, reliable, resilient and innovative, involving the highest standards of technical engineering combined with a quick time to market.

 

The Finance on the Cloud team requires a number of skilled Agile Leads who are able to work within several new pods being put together across the programme, delivering changes on existing platforms including the Finance Cloud Data Platform (FCDP), the Finance Cloud RWA Platform and the Finance Cloud Liquidity Platform.

 

Responsibilities:

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:

 

  • Facilitating the team to self-organise; enabling continuous improvement of change activities, aligned to the product roadmap and customer requirements.
  • Coaching and leadership responsibilities that enable Agile delivery, including facilitating team meetings such as retrospectives, reviews and planning events.
  • Updating of JIRA on a daily basis to ensure correct status of progress is reflected.
  • Shielding the team from interruptions during sprints to ensure that progress is not impeded.
  • Coaching the team in Agile practices. I.e. Stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews and ensures that they are followed.
  • Creating a working environment where team members feel safe to raise any form of impediments.
  • Removing impediments to optimise the throughput of the team.
  • Constantly working with the Product Owner to re-prioritise the backlog as and when there are changes in scope or bugs/issues arise.
  • Raising, tracking and managing risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Helping the team focus on continuous improvement, taking responsibility for their actions, and mentors team members to become problem self-sufficient problem solvers.
  • Continually identifying ways to improve the team’s performance and works with the team or stakeholders to implement changes.
  • Running daily stand-ups, sprint planning, deployment planning and holding retrospectives
  • Attending weekly 'Scrum of Scrum' meetings to share progress updates and raise any issues or blockers for their scrum.
  • Supporting programme level PI events
  • Arranging knowledge sharing sessions and product demonstrations to our customers.
Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience

 

  • Experience of Agile Framework & Scaled Agile.
  • Experience of working as an Agile Lead / Scrum Master role within an Agile Delivery Pod.
  • Experience of JIRA administration.
  • Experience of working closely with product owners and platform leads to deliver business outcomes.
  • Experience of end to end delivery, including design, build, test, deployment and production support.
  • Preferably experience of google cloud platform products and services, in particular Big Query, GCS, Pub-Sub and Stackdriver

 

The role will be based in Sheffield but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working
