Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

Role Description:

The Cybersecurity Technology function supports a number of technologies, platforms and services across a globally dispersed team. This includes data identification and classification, cryptography and encryption technology, Data Loss Prevention, Security Infrastructure and vulnerability management.  These collective teams work closely with HSBC Business and Functional areas to assure critical functions and billions of pounds worth of transactions across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting solution delivery and the banks operating Strategy.
• Providing representation and source of expertise for cybersecurity controls and supporting technologies.
• Support the delivery of tooling to implement controls to ensure monitor and enforcement of compliance with HSBC Information Security policies and standards globally.
• Collaborate with teams globally across HSBC to drive the implementation of the enterprise wide and regional / business level IT Strategy.
• Ensure information security requirements are adhered to globally by ensuring effective compliance and measures are in place.
• Work closely and collaborate with the rest of the team as the 1LOD function and understand strategy while maintaining visibility of their IT security risk profile, exposures and control effectiveness and to provide robust challenge to the same audience when information security risk appetites are breached.

Essential Skillset/Experience:

• Engineering experience across cyber security with specific focus on Data Security and DLP/CASB Toolsets.
• Experience of building, deploying and using tooling to support Data Security and Data Integration strategies.
• Proven experience of successful operational management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery.
• Experience working in relevant environments on Data Security principles and controls
• Knowledge of Data Classification, Cloud Security Access Broker and Data Leakage Protection Tools (Design, Installing, monitoring)
• Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of past working experience (hands-on experience) on Symantec/Broadcom DLP, Trellix DLP and Skyhigh CASB tools. Microsoft Information Protection or similar tooling
• Wider Data Security knowledge and product capability would be advantageous
• Experience of developing and maintaining Scripting in Python / Powershell is desirable but not essential

The role will be based in Sheffield.
