About the Role

My Local Government client is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Business Partner to join our the HR team on an interim basis whilst they undergo a period of change and transformation. This is a critical role supporting the strategic restructure of the Housing Department, ensuring the transformation is people-focused, legally compliant, and aligned with our organisational values.

You will work closely with senior leadership, operational managers, and HR colleagues to deliver a smooth and effective change process that supports our ambition to improve housing services for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the HR workstream of the Housing Department restructure.
  • Provide expert advice on change management, and employee relations.
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement workforce plans.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, local government policies, and consultation requirements.
  • Support employee engagement, communication, and wellbeing throughout the change process.
  • Manage risk and support resolution of complex HR issues.

About You

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor in a complex, unionised environment.
  • Strong track record of delivering organisational change and restructures.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and best practice in public sector HR.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
