VACANCY in our Newport Logistics Team


Due to on-going expansion, we are looking to recruit a Logistics Co-ordinator to join our team at our Newport Head Office.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

- To provide support to the Operations Manager, planning the most efficient ways of sending goods by sea, air or road.

- To process and administer Export customs clearances for customers.

- To ensure customer service is maintained to our high standards.

Duties to Include:


- Act as a point of contact for customer enquiries and provide quotes and follow ups as required on both imports and exports.

- Respond to all Website enquiries in a timely manner.

- Arranging routes and schedules, and confirming the details with carriers.

- Booking cargo space with carriers and completing the necessary Export documentation.

- Advising clients about the arrangements that have been made.

- Liaise with other JPLS sites to ensure incoming cargo is pre-advised and booked in.

- Provide Certificates of Shipment to customers, upon request.

- Clearing goods through customs, arranging for any duties or taxes to be paid and delivery of goods to final consignee.

- Where possible, suggest operational and system improvements that will enhance and improve the operations.

- Recording all quotes and bookings on the JPLS bespoke logistics system.

- Checking customer’s documentation against their terms of sale, for customs purposes.

- Taking customer card payments, whilst also following up on any overdue customer accounts.

The working hours would be 08:45-17:15 with 1 hour for lunch. (We could also accommodate 09:00-17:30 if this is better for travel time). Role includes 25 days + 8 holidays, company pension, on-site parking, social events, uniform, etc.


The job role will involve on the job training, as well as external courses where applicable.


You will gain an insight into the entire shipping and freight forwarding operation as whole, and learn all aspects, before honing your skills in our Groupage and FCL sector.
