Warehouse Supervisor — Basildon (Mon–Fri, No Weekends Unless Rota)

Salary: £32,500 | Full-time | On-site

A well-established logistics and freight business in Basildon is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to support its growing operations. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in warehouse management who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys leading from the front. You’ll be working with a close-knit team where attention to detail, safety, and accountability are core to the company culture.

Essential Requirements (Please Read Carefully):

• Full UK driving licence (required for in-house vehicle shunter training — HGV not needed)
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (minimum 3000kg); Flexi FLT is a plus
• Clean DBS check — required prior to employment
• Proof of right to work in the UK
• UK nationals: passport or birth certificate + NI proof
• Non-UK nationals: current immigration status (no sponsorship available)
• 5 years of employment history (no gaps longer than 30 days)
• Must complete basic arithmetic, spelling, and attention-to-detail assessments at interview

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring all freight is handled safely and securely
• Supervising a team of operatives and maintaining adherence to company procedures
• Managing loading and unloading of containers with attention to groupage logistics
• Ensuring cargo is properly documented and any damages or shortages are reported
• Maintaining forklift equipment, completing daily/weekly checks, and ensuring warehouse cleanliness
• Participating in alternating shift coverage:

Early: 07:00–15:30

Mid: 09:00–17:30

Late: 11:30–20:00

• Flexibility is important based on operational needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 4 years of warehouse experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
• A stable employment history — reliability matters in this secure role
• Strong attention to detail — this is absolutely essential
• Experience with container loading/unloading and groupage
