Job description

Aspiring Youth Worker – SEMH & Behaviour Support

South East London | Full-time, Term Time

Do you see yourself building a career in youth work, social care, or criminal justice? This role is the perfect first step.

We’re looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join a supportive school as Behaviour Mentors, working with pupils who have SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs and behavioural challenges.

Every day you’ll make an impact - helping young people regulate emotions, re-engage with learning, and build the confidence to thrive inside and outside the classroom.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting young people 1:1 and in small groups with behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Acting as a positive role model and trusted mentor
  • Helping pupils develop the social skills they need for future success
  • Collaborating with teachers, families, and agencies to provide wraparound support

Why this role?

  • Ideal experience for those pursuing careers in youth work, social work, probation, or psychology
  • Ongoing training and CPD through Milk Education
  • A rewarding role where you’ll see your impact daily

If you have empathy, resilience, and the drive to support young people at a crucial stage in life, this role could be the start of your journey in youth support.

Apply today and take your first step toward a career making real change.
