Job Detail: Head of Home Operations Reporting to: Chief Operations Officer


Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Operations to lead our operations team. This role will oversee day-to-day activities in our holiday management function, ensuring that all August properties maintain our high standards. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong operational leadership, and the ability to manage both local and remote in-house teams as well as third-party business partners across multiple markets (UK, Spain, France and Italy).

August projects are all distinct from one another and proudly rooted in a strong European heritage which pays tribute to the architectural styles, natural environment and tradition in each of our local markets. Our private collections have a high level of service and an appealing lifestyle and culture that is focused on family. The company was founded in 2018 and has since grown to be the premier lifestyle holiday home platform.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage a growing team of 15+ to facilitate everyday operations of our real estate portfolio.
  • Set standards and processes that will ensure all August properties are maintained according to our luxury service standards, including overseeing maintenance schedules and operational readiness.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with third-party service providers (e.g., gardeners, pool maintenance, cleaners, linen suppliers) to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Lead the opening of new properties, attending onsite as necessary, to ensure they are fully operational and ready for client stays.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and operational readiness of new homes.
  • Oversee and ensure all properties are functional, including managing utility contracts and payments.
  • Manage operational budgets across four jurisdictions and multiple companies, ensuring financial efficiency and adherence to budgets for home improvements.
  • Support and make key financial decisions regarding property enhancements, balancing operational needs with budget constraints.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimise the operations function, supporting long-term company growth and operational excellence. August is adding 30+ new properties every year to its portfolio. This requires better processes, software and more efficiency to be implemented across our operations and teams. 



About You – We'd Love to Hear from You if You Have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in operations, ideally within the luxury property, hospitality, or holiday management industry.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to uphold high service standards across multiple properties.
  • Pragmatic decision-making skills with the ability to take initiative in dynamic environments.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills, particularly with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners.
  • Solid understanding of project management, with the ability to manage the full lifecycle of projects across multiple properties and teams.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions that impact the operational success of the business.
  • A valid EU driver’s license would be a plus.



Hours and Package:

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm.
  • Location: Central London office with hybrid flexibility (3 days in office, 2 days from home).
  • Salary: Ranging from £60,000 to £70,000, and a bonus scheme
  • Frequent travel to and from Europe
  • Start date: ASAP
