Head of Repairs & Maintenance

£55,000 (inclusive of car allowance or company van & fuel card)

We’re supporting a values-driven social housing charity with a simple mission: giving people a safe place to rebuild their lives.

From homelessness and trauma to mental ill health or addiction, their work is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about creating stability, hope and dignity for people who need it most.

Now they’re looking for a Head of Repairs & Maintenance to lead one of the most critical aspects of that mission, ensuring every property is safe, compliant, and ready to call home.

• The maintenance service has been reshaped from the ground up - new faces, new structure, new standards.
• Your challenge is to drive void performance down by tightening processes, strengthening compliance and bringing people together behind a shared purpose.
• You’ll lead a team of 40+ skilled colleagues across responsive repairs, voids, admin and compliance, driving consistency, care and accountability across 1,200 bed spaces across South Yorkshire.

About you

You’ll bring:

✅ Leadership experience in housing or property maintenance

✅ A strong grip on Health & Safety, HHSRS and Awaab’s Law

✅ The ability to modernise systems and embed change

✅ A people-first leadership style that balances empathy with accountability

You’ll understand that this isn’t just about KPIs - it’s about culture. Coaching, listening and creating a team that cares about the outcomes of their work as much as the output.

What you’ll get

£53,100 + £1,900 car allowance (£55k total) or van & fuel card

Mileage @ 45p per mile (up to 10k miles)
