Assistant Management Accountant | Accrington | £26-27k + study support | Permanent

The Business

A long-established service industry business in Accrington is looking for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone in the early stages of their finance career that is looking for a progressive role offering exposure to management accounts within an international business.

The Role

The initial focus of this role will be to review the current processes surrounding their cost of sales and credit card purchases, helping identify efficiencies and improvements. The overall aim being to then move into an Assistant Management Accountant role and gain exposure of full end-to-end management accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile all accounts across the group, matching card payments to invoices and ensuring every transaction is accurately recorded in the accounting system.
• Identify and investigate any query transactions.
• Process nominal invoices, ensuring timely posting—particularly around month end.
• Support with invoice chasing and processing when required.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover for UK payment runs and daily banking tasks.
• Consistently meet departmental KPIs.

• Monday – Friday, flexible hours (for example 8-4, 8.30-4.30, 9-5 etc) with 30 minutes lunch
