Interim Credit Controller

6-Month Contract (Temp-to-Perm) | Hybrid – Woking

£32,000–£34,000 per annum equivalent (Hourly/Inside IR35)


We’re supporting a growing food services organisation that has recently acquired a new business unit and is now looking for an experienced Credit Controller to help stabilise and improve their receivables process during a period of change.


This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone with solid credit control experience who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and taking ownership of the ledger. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the newly acquired entity is fully integrated into existing finance processes while maintaining strong cash flow and accurate customer accounts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end credit control process for a newly acquired business unit
  • Proactively chase overdue debt by phone and email, building strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Resolve invoice disputes, discrepancies, and queries quickly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate customer records and ensure all communication is documented
  • Perform regular account reconciliations, identifying issues and ensuring balances are correct
  • Work closely with operations, finance business partners, and account managers to improve query turnaround
  • Monitor customer payment behaviour and escalate risks where appropriate
  • Support month-end processes including ageing reports and cash allocation
  • Assist with onboarding the new business unit into group processes, improving efficiency and standardising ways of working
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within credit control and AR reporting


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in complex and high volume credit control
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to follow up on unpaid invoices
  • Ability to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good understanding of reconciliations and resolving aged queries
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and accounting/ERP systems (Ideally SAGE 200)
  • Someone proactive, persistent, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
  • Available at short notice
