Job description

There are two types of Finance Assistants.

The first type is the "I'll just quietly process transactions until the end of time" type.

The second is the one who actually cares that money goes where it's supposed to go, that numbers add up, and that deadlines aren't just polite suggestions.

If you're the second type, keep reading.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Processing payments and receipts across multiple countries and currencies
• Banking cash and cheques (yes, apparently cheques still exist)
• Supplier payments, customer refunds, reward vouchers
• Direct Debit collections
• Expense claim processing
• Reconciling credit card returns
• Bank recs
• General admin (filing, emails, phone calls - the glamorous stuff)
• Jumping into other finance functions when people take holidays or are off sick

What they need from you?

They don't want a financial wizard or someone who will "bring strategic transformation to the cashbook function."

They want someone who can do the job properly, on time, and without needing to be told twice.

So ideally:

• Experience in finance or accounting
• Accuracy levels to make an auditor weep with joy
• SAP experience is lovely but optional
• Ability to prioritise (i.e., work out what needs doing now vs. What can wait until after lunch)
• Analytical brain, problem-solving ability, and the emotional intelligence to email people without sounding like Microsoft Outlook wrote it for you
