Job Title: Junior Garment Tech

Contract type: Permanent, 40 hours per week

Location: The Fold’s Head office in Bermondsey. Hybrid working- 4 days per week in the office

Role Overview:

As a Junior Garment Technologist, you will report to the Head of Technical and work closely with Design, Buying, Production, and Merchandising to support the delivery of a consistent, high-quality product across all categories.


You’ll play a key role in supporting the technical development process, contributing to fit sessions, updating specifications, and helping to ensure all products meet brand standards from development through to production. You’ll work across multiple product areas, assisting in managing timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring alignment with the critical path.


Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll support day-to-day technical activities, maintain accuracy in documentation, and help ensure clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to build strong technical foundations while gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle in a fast-paced, design led environment.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Technical Development & Fit Support

You’ll support the technical and design teams to ensure product fit, quality, and aesthetic standards are delivered consistently


  • Support the Technical and Design teams to ensure the Fold aesthetic is achieved across all products
  • With guidance from the Senior Garment Tech, support fit consistency across the collection, ensuring garments meet brand quality standards
  • Assist in the block development process across categories
  • Work closely with pattern cutters and graders to ensure construction methods are followed accurately by suppliers


2.Fit Sessions & Product Development

You’ll play an active role in supporting fit sessions, learning best practice and gradually taking ownership of product areas


  • Assist in fit meetings with Design, taking detailed notes and supporting follow-up actions
  • Develop your technical understanding to begin owning fit on selected product areas
  • Ensure tech packs are updated with fit comments and measurement specifications, and communicated to suppliers in line with the critical path


3.Critical Path & Product Tracking

You’ll help ensure technical processes remain on track, maintaining accuracy across product development stages


  • Maintain and update the sample stage tracker throughout the sealing process
  • Support adherence to the critical path, ensuring all updates and actions are completed on time
  • Assist in risk assessment of product, working closely with Buying and Production teams


4. Quality Control & Data Management

You’ll support quality processes and ensure accurate product data is maintained across systems


  • Manage the QC sample process, ensuring standards are met before production
  • Update garment and care information on NetSuite for e-commerce use
  • Maintain accuracy across product documentation and technical data


5. Team Support

You’ll support the wider technical team with day-to-day activities, contributing to a collaborative and efficient working environment


  • Assist with general technical team tasks, supporting smooth day-to-day operations
  • Build strong working relationships across Design, Buying, and Production


About You

You’ll be a detail-focused and reliable technical professional, with a solid understanding of product and the ability to support fit, quality, and technical development across the collection, with:


  • Very good technical background across multi-product categories
  • 4–5 years’ experience in a Garment Tech team, ideally within a premium fashion environment
  • Experience fitting garments, with a strong understanding of patterns and garment construction
  • Working knowledge of garment grading and specifications
  • Strong understanding of premium product standards and execution
  • Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively across teams
  • A collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships with ease
  • Keen to continue developing technical skills and gaining confidence across the product lifecycle
