The Marwood Group is a consultancy specialising in healthcare and life sciences. We provide expert strategic consulting and advisory services to global private equity firms, institutional investors and healthcare companies. Our central London office focuses on the UK and European markets, but as a transatlantic organisation we also have locations in New York and Washington DC.

The Marwood Group is currently entering an exciting period of growth and is looking to hire Associates to join our London-based UK and Europe Healthcare Advisory team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an international and multidisciplinary team comprising of individuals from across Europe and the US.

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong understanding of policy and regulation in health or social care settings, and who is interested in developing their career in consultancy. The successful candidate will have experience working in healthcare or life science environments. This may have been developed in a consultancy environment, or through working in relevant public sector or industry bodies on policy, regulatory or market access issues. Your experience may come from the UK healthcare system, but we will also consider candidates who have developed specialist insights in health or life sciences in any major European country or through working at the EU level.


The ideal candidate will find answering complex regulatory and market questions across different geographies and sectors intellectually stimulating and satisfying. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, have an eye for detail and be driven by desire to continuously improve.

The Associate will be a key part of our project delivery team, helping our clients to understand the UK and European healthcare and life sciences landscape including the political dynamics, regulatory / legislative changes, and reimbursement methodologies and trends. The Associate will be accustomed to working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, often balancing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.


Act as a key member of project delivery teams on client engagements

  • Independently lead sections of project deliverables under Director guidance, working with and guiding analysts to achieve timely and quality delivery
  • Content creation in MS PowerPoint for final client report deliverables
  • Working with analysts, project managers and subject matter expertise in a matrix management model to support project delivery
  • Oversee workflows for internal analysts and external contractors to prepare content for use in client reports
  • Identify and synthesize information from multiple sources and draw conclusions for client deliverables
  • Conduct primary and secondary research, including data collection, data-driven analysis and phone interviews
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen (i.e. Quantitative analysis
  • Join client calls to understand their needs, gather information and provide updates on project progress

Perform data analysis on trends in UK and pan-European healthcare and life sciences markets to assess the impact of changes over the next 2-5 years


Keep up to date with healthcare regulatory and policy developments at the EU level, as well as at the national level for the EUR Big 5 (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Italy)


Undertake policy, regulation, legislative and reimbursement analysis for healthcare and life science businesses


Perform qualitative research and market analysis to provide relevant information on market trends, industry-best practices and competitive landscapes to support the team in informing client strategies and growth areas


Support the Business Development function with research ahead of client meetings


Support the development of key marketing materials, such as Thought Leadership publications, the Whitehall Report, the Compass: Healthcare Insights for Europe, and Catalysts: Health Policy Catalysts For the US, EU and UK


Supporting the development of Marwood Group’s client product and processes


Attendance at relevant events and conferences on behalf of Marwood Group


Candidates should possess the following:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working at Analyst level or above in a relevant industry/organization, preferably a consulting firm
  • Excellent research skills, including demonstrable ability in quantitative analysis
  • Demonstrable experience of producing content in MS Powerpoint
  • Strong Excel analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • Experience working in a team environment, as well as independently and autonomously
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A willingness to meet new challenges with enthusiasm
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects in fast-paced environment
  • Post-graduate qualification in relevant field is preferable
  • Ability to speak a secondary European language is desirable
  • Direct experience with a healthcare system(either as an employee or in a consulting role)in one of the European big 5 markets (UK, France, Italy. Germany and Spain) is desirable


London location is preferred. Marwood offers a competitive compensation package and benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience, plus annual performance bonus opportunity.
