The Role
Cpl UK Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist to join an SEN School in Leeds, working within a specialist educational setting supporting children and young people with complex additional needs.
Details
The role involves supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), Down’s Syndrome, hearing and visual impairments, and autism. You will provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention to promote independence, sensory regulation, functional development, and access to learning.
Responsibilities
- Manage a specialist paediatric caseload within a school setting
- Complete functional, sensory, and developmental assessments
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans
- Support pupils with sensory processing, motor skills, and daily living activities
- Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to EHCPs and educational outcomes
- Provide strategies and training to staff supporting pupils
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports
Requirements
- HCPC registration
- Experience in paediatric occupational therapy, ideally within special educational needs settings
- Knowledge of SLD, autism, sensory processing, and complex developmental needs
- Ability to work independently within educational environments
- Strong communication and organisational skills
