About the role
We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to open conversations with prospective clients and own the early stages of our sales funnel. The role exists to generate qualified pipeline across our three core offers (reporting, sustainability and brand) and to make sure we get in front of the right people consistently.
Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will work closely with our Senior Strategy Leads and Senior Marketing Manager to create and execute targeted outreach campaigns. A key objective will be to deliver a diversified pipeline across our three core offers.
Our approach is centred around thought leadership content with a strong point of view to help open doors. Blogs, webinars and award-wins give a regular rhythm of content to nurture prospects.
What you'll be doing
Own the lead generation engine. Drive target account outreach for each of our three propositions, with senior strategy leads providing the proposition expertise and you owning the activity that turns target lists into conversations. Use a multi-channel approach spanning email, Linkedin and calls to reach prospects, leveraging AI, automation and our tech stack to deliver high quality outreach at scale.
Own the early stages of the pipeline. Manage all opportunities from intro meeting through to qualified brief. Lead intro meetings alongside senior strategy leads on priority accounts.
Own the data and reporting. Build and run our CRM and pipeline reporting. Lead the weekly pipeline review. Contribute the BD perspective to the monthly growth meeting. Track and report against pipeline coverage, conversion, source mix and campaign performance.
Partner with senior strategy leads. Work with senior strategy leads to shape target lists and campaign activity for their propositions.
Be the front door for inbound enquiries. Be the first port of call for inbound new business enquiries and qualify opportunities.
What you'll bring
- Business development experience in an agency, consultancy or B2B environment. We're less interested in years on a CV and more interested in evidence of building a pipeline.
- A track record of running outbound at quality rather than volume
- Confidence working with senior strategy leads
- Strong CRM and pipeline reporting discipline, with experience of modern marketing automation
- Real curiosity about AI in business development, and willingness to be hands-on with new tools
- Comfort with writing. Brief intros, campaign copy, outreach sequences. You don't need to be a copywriter, but you need to write well
- Ability to balance the priorities of multiple propositions and manage internal stakeholders
- Discipline and consistency. You follow through, week after week, without needing to be chased.
