About The Role

Our estate of Properties are critical to ensuring we can be ‘at our best’ as foodmakers and shopkeepers.


As Property Manager, Remote Monitoring you will act as the lead for remote monitoring, data and insight, working with stakeholders to create an industry leading and innovative strategy to harvest store data, interpreting and translating this information into valuable insight via Bureau partners.


Responsible for the Bureau improvement programme and ensuring the right architecture is in place to operate these services across sites and stores (architecture relating to technical control strategy and type of connectivity, supporting a leading ‘Internet of Things’ platform).


We have a fantastic head office base in Bradford, easily accessible from Leeds and surrounding areas. Boasting a large on site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience store, prayer room, free parking and regular company wide events and promotions.


Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable distance of our office as whilst there will be some home working, our Managers are at the heart of the action and their office presence is really important - you’ll be the face of your team and specialism.


Our teams benefit from working a ‘4 day week’, this hugely successful change to our working patterns has seen an enhancement in work life balance, we want you to always be ‘at your best’ so your day off will be just that, we know that our teams work hard, so want them to enjoy their 3 days off a week.


There is also a requirement to work 13 Saturdays Feb-Feb, these days are shorter - 6 hours - and are generally used for team meetings, project planning and strategic work.

Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)


  • Develop our future Maintenance & Energy Bureau strategy

  • Manage our external suppliers which operate the Bureau function to deliver real value in energy reduction and predictive maintenance through high quality analysis

  • Engage with the wider Property team at all stages of the asset life cycle from initial capital investment through to installation standards, operating standards and end of life replacement

  • Support the development of future standards and specifications to ensure they are fit with our needs for remote connectivity and data insight 

  • Drive cost savings through operational energy reduction and equipment settings strategies

  • Inform the capital planning strategy through control upgrades and boiler / heat pumps strategy

  • Reduce maintenance costs through first time fix, and preventing full failure through predictive maintenance

  • Use data to inform maintenance and energy capital programmes

  • Manage external contractors and consultants to optimise HVAC and Refrigeration Remote Monitoring services

  • Consult engineering and construction to ensure smooth handover on property development programmes & projects

  • Deliver accurate and informed analysis to support decision making and insight

  • Work with energy data to produce insight on project performance and introduce new algorithms to support preventive maintenance

  • Guardians of consistent specifications of equipment across sites and stores.

  • Develop and implement a rolling 5 year strategy, including groundwork, quick wins and long term control replacement

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify issues and develop resolutions strategies

  • Support in leading the department strategy for building management systems with technical experts in HVAC, Electrical, Refrigeration and Equipment


About You

Requirements


  • Experienced energy manager/maintenance manager

  • Experienced in managing 3rd party bureaus in a remote environment

  • Broad experienced in retail maintenance and data strategy

  • A degree/ equivalent experience in an engineering or energy / sustainable development discipline

  • Experience in project and programme management relating to innovation and business transformation

  • Strong knowledge of industry wide methods and innovation around controls, connected buildings and internet of things

  • Strong in data analysis and the use of data to lead strategy

  • Stakeholder management skills, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Advanced IT skills, especially in excel / google sheets, and specialist energy/maintenance management platforms

  • Real industry awareness of technology and drive for innovative solutions

  • A passion for improvement and change at speed through the use of industrial science
