You will work within the Adult Mental Health Psychology Specialty which is part of the Ayrshire & Arran Psychological Service. The Psychological Service comprises of approx 100 staff. The Psychological Service delivers area-wide psychological provision through the Professional Lead for Psychological Services, two Heads of Specialty and Consultant Psychologist Leads across the Psychology Specialties.
This post sits within South Ayrshire AMH Psychology Specialty a well-established and enthusiastic team consisting of: Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialist in CBT, Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology and Trainee Clinical Psychologists on the Glasgow University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme. The Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology are based within the South Ayrshire Psychology Specialty at Ailsa Hospital (admin base) and Arrol Park Resource Centre (clinic base).
You will be involved in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other evidence based high intensity psychological therapies to adults presenting with moderate mental health difficulties. You will have opportunity to contribute to: service development, training, supervision and will work closely with colleagues from the AMH Psychological Specialty and wider Mental Health Team. In order to support clinicians in the delivery of their role, the Psychological Service places a strong emphasis on access to appropriate CPD.
This post is permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week).
You must be a car driver and we would welcome interest in this post from Trainee CAAP on the MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care Programme. Requirement for being appointed to the post is having successfully attained the MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care.
