About us

The Front-end Developer will be joining a talented Development team, and will be working on the Greenfield redevelopment of the Pets at Home customer facing digital platforms

You will be working on our own bespoke front ends, but also make use of the Optimizely CMS platform and integrating to commerce tools and bespoke backend services. You’ll be helping the reinvent our customer journeys

 

About the role

To work within one of our Agile software development teams on behalf of the Front-End development team to deliver Front-End implementations within the Pets at Homes services layer

  • Front-End Web Development – Design and develop Front-End solutions.
  • Documentation – Helps to maintain an appropriate level of documentation
  • Test Creation and Execution – Defines and develops automated unit tests to help maintain software quality
  • Product Development and Stakeholder interaction – plays a role in interacting with stakeholders and product management to define and enhance the products under development
  • Software Development Lifecycle – plays a role in the agile software development lifecycle.

 

Experience Will Include

  • Experience of developing using React and the ecosystem and technologies is use in a React environment (Typescript, HTML and CSS)
  • A good understanding of Service oriented design and software Development and the ecosystem and technologies in use
  • Knowledge of Software / Process / Project lifecycles with an understanding of Agile working practices
  • Some knowledge of frameworks, patterns and practices used to develop software and experience of using React as a development language of choice.
  • Customer-oriented approach and outcome focused
  • Experience of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Desirable

  • Experience of TDD, CI and CD.
  • Experience of cloud native software implementations, particularly within an Azure environment.
