Cardiology Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a Specialist Interest in Heart Failure: Band 7/ Annex 21
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team of Cardiology Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Candidates should have a specialist interest in Heart Failure. Working within the multi-professional clinical team the role of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner is integral to the smooth running of the acute hospital. The post holder will work at an advanced level undertaking; high level clinical decision making affording assessment, diagnosis and treatment including prescribing, for patients with cardiology conditions and other multi-dimensional problems. Decisions are made using high level expert knowledge, skills and clinical competence in the delivery of evidenced based, patient centred clinical care of the highest standard, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Health and Safety Legislation. The ANP also supports junior nursing, medical and AHP staff and is actively involved in teaching. The successful candidate must have well-developed, demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to problem solve under pressure whilst remaining responsive to the delivery and demands within both Unscheduled and Scheduled Care work streams. This job has arisen from a Scottish Government Initiative (National Interface Care Programme) to improve standards and equity of care for patients with heart failure. The post will be based on the cardiology inpatient wards. The role will involve contribution to “hot clinics”, ambulatory heart failure care, the in-reach heart failure team and a weekly heart failure multidisciplinary team meeting. You must be a Registered Nurse with relevant clinical experience within cardiology and educated to Masters Level. This post is also available as a training post under AfC Annex 21 to candidates who can evidence working towards Masters Level. The post is full time and you will work within unscheduled and scheduled cardiology care services.
