Biomedical Support Worker Level 3 (Band 3)
(Advanced Biomedical Support Worker)
Full-time (37.5 hours) Permanent
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of Advanced Biomedical Support Worker.
As part of the support worker team your duties may include analyser maintenance, sample processing on automated equipment, performing non-complex laboratory tests and reception duties such as labelling and sorting the laboratory requests then entering the patient details & test requests onto the laboratory computer system.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in a Clinical Blood Science laboratory environment, working with analytical equipment as well as within Blood Science Reception. You will be a good team player as you will be working with a team of other Biomedical Support Worker staff in a busy environment in which this role is essential to providing excellent levels of service.
This is a full time position (37.5hrs) which may be rostered across core shifts (Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00), Backshifts, weekends, and overnight shift.
There are 3 adult acute hospitals and a specialist Paediatric hospital within NHS Lothian. Blood Science Laboratory Services are provided from the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Western General Hospital, and St John’s Livingston. Your training base will be agreed at interview.
This is a NHSL wide Blood Science position and you may be required to work on another site after training on the initial base site.
