Assistant Psychologists Band 5 – Lothian Older People’s Psychology Service

1.0 WTE Edinburgh Behaviour Support Service (EBSS)

The Lothian Older People's Psychology Service (LOPPS) provides a highly specialist clinical psychology service across the NHS Lothian area to adults predominantly aged 65 and over and includes those of any age with a diagnosis of dementia.

We are seeking to recruit to 1.0 WTE Band 5 permanent Assistant Psychology post. This is an established role and has become vacant due to the current postholders’ successful application to postgraduate clinical psychology training.

EBSS is a psychology led specialist service providing formulation led interventions for individuals with dementia referred to the service resident in Edinburgh City Care Homes, in addition to providing training to care homes in responding to stress and distressed behaviour. This post supports the Clinical Psychology Lead and other members of the EBSS clinical team in the assessment, formulation and intervention with direct case work. The assistant also provides support to the Stress & Distress training programme and has a significant role in the routine data collection and analysis, audit and evaluation of both clinical and training outcomes.

You must have an Honours Degree in Psychology eligible for registration with the British Psychological Society.
