The opportunity

You will be supporting the in-house legal departments as they tactically and strategically evolve the way they provide legal and commercial support to their internal and external customers. We help companies to build an enhanced legal operating model that allows them to allocate legal work to the right teams, in the right place, at the right time - whether the work is undertaken in-house or by external providers.
 

EY Riverview Law support businesses goals, including centralisation, compliance improvement, offloading of high-volume repetitive and standardised legal work tasks, for a better understanding and control of legal spend.

You will be responsible for providing support and assistance on a range of non-contentious commercial legal work. You will also benefit from first class training and development opportunities and will gain a unique insight into working life at EY Riverview Law.

Your key responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing a full range of legal work to our business-based clients.

Responsibilities vary but will typically include:

• Assisting in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on all types of commercial agreements
• Case management
• Conducting legal research
• Assessing merits and risks
• Responding to letters/emails/calls
• Client contact on progress of cases as well as with third party solicitors
• Creating and implementing templates and processes
• Participating in team meetings
• Attending internal/external courses
• Keeping up to date with law and practice
• Undertaking routine scoping calls
• Collating management information

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Ideally LLB Law (or non-law) Degree
• Commercially aware

• Good drafting skills
• Ability to develop long standing relationships with existing clients

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• A commercial / pragmatic approach to problem solving with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritise.
• Ability to work within a fast paced and flexible working environment.

It would be advantageous if you are studying or have gained the LPC, GDL or equivalent but not a necessity.
