The EY UK & Ireland (UKI) Consulting practice is looking to expand its presence in the North supporting some of our most prestigious clients, which cover a broad spectrum of private & public sector organisations, many of whom are household names and market pioneers in product and service innovation in a fast-changing world. Our Graduate Analyst Program is aiming to recruit enthusiastic, motivated professionals with a desire to shape tomorrow’s digital world of finance through a stimulating role.
The opportunity
EY UKI Consulting plans to increase headcount by doubling in size over the next 4 years to over 10,000 people, of which half of these roles will be based outside of London, and a significant proportion in the North, across all grades.
Digital Finance sits within EY’s Business Consulting business and also has an ambitious growth target which makes it the perfect time to join and start carving out your own exceptional EY experience, working with globally recognised clients, and a growing team. Digital Finance works with clients to address mission critical issues for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and their teams, creating value and delivering leading finance capabilities.
Our Digital Finance Graduate Analyst Program (GAP) is a three-year programme, and you will benefit from EY’s comprehensive development and training plans, allowing you to kick-start your career in the world of professional consulting
Your key responsibilities
Working as part of client facing Consulting teams, you will have a chance to work on a variety of projects ranging from enterprise performance management transformations, to global business service transformations, to Cloud ERP design and implementations, to process automation, to organisation and talent assessments and much more.
The GAP (Graduate Analyst Program) will equip you with the skills, behaviours and tools necessary to succeed in the world of professional consulting, whilst also being able to tailor your learning plan around your own interests. Your home-base will be a choice between EY’s offices near St. James’s in Newcastle or in St Peters Square in Manchester.
As an EY Project Analyst, you will:
- Collaborate with globally recognised clients and senior stakeholders.
- Conduct analysis to support the design of future of finance operating models.
- Support the design of finance processes to a defined methodology and apply automation technologies.
- Support the design and implementation of future state performance management processes and underlying data and technologies.
- Understand next generation cloud-based ERP platforms and the benefits they bring.
- Understand next generation Digital solutions and the opportunities for their application.

- Experience in software development cycle (e.g. coding, script languages, UI design, agile, etc.) would be advantageous.
- Aptitude to be service orientated and an appreciation for what it means to be client-facing and represent our Firm in everything that you do.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and achieving shared goals and purposes.
- Ability to communicate assuredly, clearly, and concisely in both oral and written forms.
- Interest in learning more about Digital technologies and automation.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and capability of performing under pressure.
- Proficiency in the use of IT.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A degree level education, or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the UK. (EY is not able to sponsor individuals who require a work visa for this position.)
- Willingness to travel. (Your home base is Newcastle or Manchester for the duration of the Graduate Analyst Program. Depending on your project assignment, you may be required to travel nationally, or internationally.)
- Interest in building a role in digital finance and consultancy.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
