Securities Lending Operations is a dynamic department that works with partners across the HSBC Global Banking and Markets business to deliver Securities Lending solutions to clients.

We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Governance and Framework Risk Assessment Associate working within our MSS business, Non-Financial Risk team.

The effective management of Non-Financial Risk (NFR) is a high priority for Markets and Securities Services (MSS). The MSS Governance and Framework team sits within the 1LOD Non-Financial Risk function and is responsible for the oversight and effective embedding of the NFR Framework

A high level overview of the role is. Support the coordination the review of conduct risks across Markets in conjunction with Asset Class Risk Owners, Control Owners and NFR leads. The successful candidate will need to manage multiple stakeholders globally to ensure appropriate input and review/ challenge of our risk assessments in a timely manner. The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office based working at HSBC offices at Lochside, Edinburgh

In this role you will

  • Provide support for the coordination of the annual refresh of our conduct risk assessments across all Global Markets asset classes (Equities, Securities Financing, Global Debt Markets, Markets Treasury, Global Sales, Global FX & Commodities)
  • Supporting asset classes globally in completing the assessments
  • Ensuring output meets defined minimum standards
  • Co-ordinating with control owners to provide a view of control effectiveness for global controls
Requirements

To be successful, you should meet the following requirements

  • An understanding of Risk: Frameworks, Regulations, Compliance, Control Assessments is essential, including knowledge within Financial Services
  • Solid Project and Change Management skills, ideally benefitting from knowledge of formal methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder management of peer groups above and below your reporting line
  • Very good Microsoft Excel skills - VLookup, Pivot tables as a minimum, VBA an advantage
  • Markets or Securities Services experience are not necessarily required if you can demonstrate experience of Risk Frameworks & Compliance in other business areas
