Band 3 Radiographer Assistant - Full-time position
The Cardiac MRI department (CMR) at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) has an exciting opportunity for a supportive, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join this multi-disciplinary team and be an integral part of our service. This post is a Band 3 Radiographer Assistant full time position that will be based in the Advanced Imaging Centre (AIC) at LGI and will be predominantly within research. This position is a 12 month fixed term post.
The radiographer assistant role will have the combination of both clinical and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities of the role will include the day-to-day aspects of patient care, for example screening and examination preparation, therefore good communication skills with a sympathetic patient centred approach is essential. General administrative tasks are a main responsibility within this role as well as being familiar with Trust local rules for MR safety pertaining to the assistant role. Having basic computer skills is essential and familiarity with current Trust systems a desirable advantage. The post holder will undertake a clinical support role, supporting the small team of cardiac MRI radiographers, cardiac MRI radiographer assistants and clinicians within the department.
The CMR department performs over 3000 examinations a year at its state of the art facilities and is a leading national and international centre of cardiac MRI excellence that is at the forefront of the modality throughout the world through its high impact research publications, clinical scanning and educational training. The service is provided over an extended day, typically 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8 am until 5pm Saturdays.
