The Trust will support you in this duty by providing ongoing training, support and advice and have a Corporate Safeguarding Team who can be contacted for guidance and the provision of safeguarding supervision.
Cherry Ward is a female-only ward for patients with acute mental health needs. The ward which has been open since the summer of 2021, was designed in conjunction with over 100 patients to develop an environment that is supportive for the patients who use the service. The ward provides areas for patients, carers and staff and has a sensory room, art room and therapeutic corner for our service users.
As a Senior Healthcare Support worker, you will play an integral role within Cherry Ward, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team and supporting our registered nurses. You will have responsibility for shift allocations on each shift, supporting healthcare support workers in their role and being an integral part of providing high quality care, working to support registered nurses in providing effective mental health care in a therapeutic hospital environment.
We’re looking for people who hold previous experience as a Healthcare Support worker or equivalent experience in another care setting, can demonstrate an ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and have excellent verbal communication and organisation skills.
Full training will be provided during your induction period as well as ongoing support and development to help you succeed in the role. Parklands Hospital is comprised of five mental health wards, including two acute-admission wards, a PICU, and two Older People’s Mental Health wards. It is based next to North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke and is close to rail and bus links. We also benefit from free parking on site and a nearby nursery on the adjoining Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital site.
