Manager - Operational Resilience - UK Wide in London

IT Risk and Assurance (ITRA) is growing fast. We’re looking for Managers to join our ever-expanding team of professionals, to help continue contributing to ITRA Client engagements.  The ability to remain resilient in the face of a range of disruptions from the traditional physical events, to major system outages and the multitude of cyber incidents is one of the most critical challenges facing businesses today. With the pace of change, new regulatory requirements and increased connectivity organisations are focusing more and more on being resilient.

You will join a fast-growing EMEIA team of over 500 IT Risk and Assurance professionals dedicated to the Financial Services industry, with over 150 based in the UK. Our ITRA professionals work closely with some of the world’s most prestigious financial organisations on key issues.

 

Your key responsibilities

The role with primarily focus on the development, delivery and assurance of resilience programmes and related disciplines.  This means helping clients understand and navigate new UK and international regulatory requirements around their end-to-end business services, supporting in core delivery of resilience build and assessment programmes as well as integrating and working on some of the more foundational resilience disciplines such as business continuity, crisis management and scenario testing.

 

Drawing on their industry knowledge and experience, professionals provide innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs and contribute to thought leadership. Professionals also actively improve operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, in line with EY’s commitment to quality.

 

Your role will require you to lead teams or parts of teams on engagements of different sizes and will be under the guidance of higher levels. They will look to you to anticipate and identify risks, and raise any issues with them as appropriate. As an influential member of the team, you will help to create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior team members to assist in their professional development. You will lead by example and act as a role model for our people in the way that you live our values.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Working across a portfolio of engagements with our clients, reporting to a Senior Manager or Director, responsible for the management of resilience assessments or workstreams of a resilience transformation programme.
  • Working with your team you will create high quality reports, ready for review by Senior Managers, Directors and Partners.
  • You will identify opportunities for EY to assist our clients further and escalate these potential areas to the relevant Senior Manager, Director or Partner. 

 

To qualify for the role you must have

Experience in resilience, business continuity and/or IT service continuity is essential for this role. A Big 4 background or comparable consulting experience is helpful, although EY will provide ongoing training and support to develop your consulting skills. We therefore welcome applicants with industry experience and skills delivering transformation work streams, or remediation work. 

 

You will have a broad background across resilience and continuity with experience in one or a number of the following areas:

  • Resilience, understanding the new regulatory requirements around business services, mapping, impact tolerance and scenario testing.
  • Business Continuity assessment, design and implementation, governance framework development and the necessary processes and controls.
  • Incident and crisis management policies, procedures and good practice.
  • Understanding of information security and non-financial operational risk requirements and frameworks.
  • Understanding of OCIR/RRP
  • Understanding of security policies and procedures, standards and controls in line with regulation and/or current standards, ISO27001.
  • Understanding of data privacy, implementation of data protection / GDPR programmes to address confidentiality and security over customer, employee or patient data.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in Financial Services, Government Organisations or Military
  • Strong academic record including a relevant undergraduate (Bachelors) degree
  • Resilience/Continuity related qualifications such as CBCI/AMBCI/MBCI, Master BCM, ISO22301 auditor, ISO 27001 auditor
  • Project and programme related qualifications; Prince II, Scrum, Agile (desirable)
  • Information security and/or risk related qualifications such as CRISC, CISSP, CISA or equivalents
