Assistant Psychologist-Adult Mental Health in Glasgow

The shift pattern for this post is within Monday-Friday 9-5
A 0.6WTE permanent vacancy for a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist has arisen within the adult mental health inpatient service at Leverndale Hospital. This service delivers a high quality Psychology Service to adults admitted to the acute admission units and the rehabilitation wards serving South Glasgow and East Renfrewshire. You’ll work within a small team of Clinical Psychologists on the site, and work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues, such as nurses, psychiatrists and occupational therapists. Your work will be allocated by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist within the service, and you’ll receive supervision and support from a Clinical Psychologist.
You’ll hold a minimum 2:1 undergraduate honours degree in Psychology or equivalent, be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, and have an interest in applying Psychology to working with people with psychological difficulties. You’ll be able to provide evidence of right to work in the UK without restriction. Knowledge of psychological theory and models of application is essential, along with sound knowledge of research methodology and data collection. The postholder should be able to work within a team but also be able to work independently. The postholder should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
