Applications are invited for an NHS locum specialty doctor in Histopathology based at the Area Laboratories, University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock. Applications from candidates interested in less than full time working or annualised hours are also invited.
Situated in the South West of Scotland, we are ideally placed, offering quick and easy access to Glasgow, the national motorway network via the M77 and ferry services to West Coast islands.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team of consultant histopathologists. Successful candidates will be able to dissect cases reflecting the wide range of General Surgical Pathology cases received in the department and independently report limited cases, dependent upon their training and previous independent reporting experience.

The Terms and Conditions of service Are those determined by the Terms and Conditions of Service-Specialty Doctor(Scotland) (2008). The post is offered on a 10 programmed activity basis. Opportunities may exist for Extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements. Applications from individuals who may wish to work on a part-time or job share basis will be welcomed.
Appropriately experienced applicants for the post must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice. UK trained doctors should have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis), at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty. Non-UK trained doctors should have equivalent experience and competencies.
