Imaging – South West Sector
Band 6 Core Mammographer (Rotational sites)
Gartnavel General Hospital (GGH)
New Victoria Ambulatory Care Hospital (NVACH)
This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our Mammography team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Hospitals (NHS GG&C). We are recruiting within the South West Sector (Diagnostics Directorate) seeking band 6 Core Mammographer (rotational across hospital sites).
There has been significant investment in Imaging over the past few years resulting in state of the art imaging equipment in our departments. Two new Siemens Revelation Mammography units have been installed this year, and we can currently offer our patients up to date imaging techniques including Tomography, Tomo biopsy and Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM) techniques.
NHSGGC are committed to radiography role development and have Mammographers trained in localisations/biopsies and reporting. The diagnostics directorate is committed to providing post graduate learning opportunities in line with service requirements.
As a Mammographer your main responsibility will be to carry out Mammography and CESM x-ray examinations and provide direct care for patients attending either GGH/NVACH suites.
At these sites you will also undertake additional specialised x-ray procedures and participates in interventional Radiological techniques on patients returning for further investigation at review clinics.
Requirements for the post are:-
- HCPC Registration
- BSc (hons) Degree in Radiography or equivalent
- UK recognised Post-Graduate Certificate in Mammography.
