Role Purpose:

The Wholesale Non-Financial Risk teams’ function has been brought together in line with HSBC investor commitments in February 2020, and as a result, this is an opportunity to shape a key component of HSBC’s future state in Non-Financial Risk across the Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking (GB) businesses. This is an exciting time to join the Wholesale Business Regulatory Risk & Controls team as we look to develop and enhance our controls in the electronic & audio communications space to ensure we deploy safe and secure tools that comply to our Policy and the expectations of our regulator. This role will be at the forefront of driving the requirements for Wholesale at Group level and ensuring we deploy fit for purpose solutions for our staff to use both internally and externally and communicating these changes to our staff

The individual will support the strategy for electronic communications in the Wholesale with stakeholder buy-in across the regulatory risk space with a focus on electronic and audio communication and collaboration tools in CMB, GB & WCOO 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage relationships with stakeholders across WCOO, CMB, GB, GLCM, GTRF, MSS, DBS as well as key risk stewards such as Compliance (RC) and Legal. 
  • Support the Wholesale lead on audio and electronic communications as well as collaboration tools
  • Attend key programme forums representing Wholesale and influence / input as required to ensure fit for purpose solutions are deployed
  • Production of MI and report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to working groups and decision-making forums 
  • Support the design and agreement of requirements for any enhancements to the key areas cited including updating first line of defence global procedures and ensuring all key stakeholders are engaged.
  • Be a point of contact for all queries across the 7 regions relating to the topics highlighted above. 
  • Undertake ad hoc business regulatory risk activities as required e.g. supporting regulatory programmes and producing and delivering training materials.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, complemented by interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines and thrive in a fast changing, results-driven environment. Ensure that all deadlines are met on time without sacrificing quality of information.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of topics/projects with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to accommodate new requirements and quickly become a subject matter expert in emerging requirements.
  • Strong IT skills (particularly in Excel and PowerPoint). Experience interpreting data sets and delivering insights. Excellent presentation and analytical skill set.  
  • Ability to distill complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations;
  • Ability to identify, assess and communicate the need for risk management intervention in a complex environment. 

The base location for this role will be 8 Canada Square, London with hybrid working
