FIXED TERM ST1 LEVEL CLINICAL FELLOWS

ACUTE AND GENERAL MEDICINE NHS TAYSIDE

Applications are welcomed by NHS Tayside for Fixed Term ST1 Clinical Fellow in Acute and General Medicine. There are a number of posts available and the successful candidate may be based across various sites in Tayside including Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary.

These posts will commence in February 2023 and are for 6 months in the first instance.

Applicants must have successfully completed Foundation training or the equivalent.

The posts will involve a rotation through different medical specialities including the Acute Medicine Unit and various medical specialities. Particular effort will be made to accommodate any specific speciality interest a candidate may have. Arrangements will be made with successful applicants on an individual basis following interview.

All posts include:

  • protected development time of up to a half day per week
  •  study leave of 10 days per 6 months
  • a study budget of £250 per post per 6 months
  • a named mentor for the duration of the post
  • experience within acute care environments such as AMU, Medical High Dependency and Coronary Care
  • ability to attend local teaching such as for PACES


Out of hours work will be on the medicine ST1/2 rota, which is supported by resident on call Registrars at all times. Applications to work daytime hours only, with no out of hours commitment, will be considered.

These posts provide an excellent opportunity for doctors who wish to develop their experience in different medical specialities, gain experience in quality improvement and teaching, or who require a clinical post to support completion of postgraduate exams.
