What you will be doing
 
You will join a team that works well together to provide care to men and women with learning disabilities; supporting people to lead a valued and fulfilled life. 
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will utilise your skills and experience of care work to support individuals with a learning disability who require a high level of support to live within a community setting and will continue to require this longer term. Service users may be transitioning from children’s residential services, education, or moving out of the family home.

Your aim will be to encourage individuals to lead a full and valued life, enabling them to live more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks and developing robust coping strategies.
 
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you.

Where you will be working
 
Location: Princes Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6JJ
 
You will be working at the Holkham House, providing a specialist residential service for men and women with a range of learning disabilities, including autism and sensory and communication impairments. Holkham House has direct train access to London and Brighton and the M25/M23 motorways are 4 miles away.
 
You will work night shifts: 4on/4off, 9:00pm - 7:30am. Permanent, 36.75 hours full - time contract. 
 
All what we expect from you is
  • We are actively encouraging female candidates to apply for this opportunity at our residential house based in Redhill. This is to accommodate the needs of our female service users in the most efficient manner.
  • Must hold recent experience of care work from learning disability type of service 
  • The ability to show strong empathy, a caring and compassionate nature
  • Willing to support the resident with the personal hygiene
  • People skills, communication skills and a good sense of humour
  • Willingness to deal with the challenging behaviour
  • A positive & professional approach
  • Reliability, flexibility, hard work and honesty
  • Team working ethos aligned to our company values
  • Must be local or based at a commutable distance and time
* You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted.
