About the Role

As a result of some internal promotions, we are looking for a FP&A Analyst, initially for a 12 month fixed term contract, to work out of our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire), and we can offer hybrid working from this location.

As FP&A Analyst, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all rolling reforecasts (Risks & opportunities) and annual planning cycles are accurately inputted and exported from SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC). You’ll that ensure BPC is fit for purpose to deliver reforecasts and also play a key role in period end close and quarterly board reporting.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Providing insight and analysis to support the forecasting cycle for Pets at Home Retail, including the annual budget and rolling reforecasts
  • Being the primary point of contact for BPC for all Retail Finance Business Partners
  • Exporting rolling reforecast updates from BPC
  • Working closely with internal Business systems and external consultants to resolve BPC input issues / BAU system changes
  • Maintaining BPC on a BAU basis (e.g., Chart of accounts / new cost centres)
  • Supporting the period end process including; analysis of spend revenue, margin & operating costs versus reforecasting and production of reports to be shared with finance business partners
  • Accountability for co-ordinating periodic board pack and reviews
  • Reporting and reconciliation of Statutory and LFL revenue
  • Providing analysis and support to ad-hoc projects being undertaken by the FP&A team

About you

You’ll be currently progressing through an accounting qualification or qualified by experience.

Month end execution experience is key. You will have knowledge of core accounting concepts such as accruals & pre-payments, processing journals and review of relevant P&L codes for accuracy & reasonableness.

A high level of attention to detail, the ability to problem solve and an organised & efficient approach will set you up for success in the role.

Further key experience/attributes include;

  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills – the ability to manipulate data efficiently and present information effectively
  • Proficiency in SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC)
  • Inquisitive mindset and proactive approach
  • Ability to build effective relationships and overcome challenges
  • Experience of using SAP is desirable
  • Previous Cost Centre (finance management of) experience is also desirable. That’s the reporting of actuals and influencing budget submissions
