Investor Relations (IR) is responsible for managing HSBC’s relationships with equity and debt investors, sell-side analysts and rating agencies. We are a small, high-performance team that work regularly with HSBC’s senior management team and largest shareholders. 

HSBC, with its scale and geographic reach, has a substantial role in solving critical global challenges, including the transition to net zero. As Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations have become increasingly important to our investors and other key stakeholders, the growth in demand for ESG-related information has been exponential. This has created the need for a front-office ESG specialist within the IR team.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of ESG Investor Relations Manager.

In this role, you will:

Have day-to-day responsibility within the IR team for all aspects of ESG investor relations, including internal and external communications and ESG ratings management and relationship management.

  • External communications: 
    • Prepare presentations and Q&A briefings 
    • Help shape HSBC’s ESG disclosures
    • Respond to investor information requests
    • Attend investor meetings and conferences
  • ESG ratings: 
    • Primary point of contact with ESG rating agencies
    • Coordinate HSBC’s responses to questionnaires and information requests
    • Analyse HSBC’s and competitors’ ESG ratings 
    • Prepare briefings for senior management 
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Progressive experience as an equity research or capital markets analyst, ideally with a focus on banks / financial institutions
  • CFA candidacy an advantage but not a must
  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • A solid grounding in banking and financial modelling
  • Excellent analytical, communication and relationship management skills
  • Self-starting, highly motivated team player with a commitment to excellence
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for ESG Investor Relations Analyst

The base location for this role is London.
