We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Legal Counsel, Insurance UK

In this role, you will: 

  • Provide advice and support on legal issues to the UK teams that cover insurance manufacturing (HSBC Life) and insurance distribution (HSBC UK Bank, including First Direct and CMB, and M&S Bank).
  • Provide legal support within the assigned area of responsibility and on a variety of legal matters including matters that may be complex or have potential for significant impact.
  • Provide high quality specialised legal and regulatory advice, guidance and support to the UK insurance business.
  • Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with all members of the UK WPB Legal Team and the UK insurance business.
  • Provide legal services in a cost-effective manner.
  • Have the opportunity to develop and progress.
     
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: 

  • Qualified lawyer (including overseas qualified lawyers) 
  • Non-contentious insurance law background
  • Knowledge of either product (protection and investment bond) and/or general insurance distribution an advantage
  • Insurance regulatory knowledge an advantage
  • A team player who can get on with the other legal team members, and people in the business at all levels

The base location for this role is London.
