Job description

Introduction
If caring for other people comes naturally and you are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference to the lives of people in need, then join the team at St Neots Neurological Centre as a Healthcare Assistant and provide care and support for people with neurological conditions in a residential environment.

Whether you are looking to start a new career in healthcare or are already an experienced Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker through the NHS or private sector you’ll receive all necessary training, where you’ll work together and be valued and supported.

What you will be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant you will join a supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with neurological conditions.

Residents at St Neots Neurological Centre have varying needs, from being able to manage some of their own needs and learning new skills to increase their level of independence, to being fully reliant. This includes personal care involving washing, dressing, shaving and helping with continence needs. Helping residents to eat is also a big part of the daily routine, we do also care for patients with challenging behaviours.

There’s plenty of fun to be had too, through supporting patients to take part in regular community activities, like accessing local leisure centres, and supporting residents to shop and budget, to also supporting patients to engage with activities within the hospital. We have a full therapy team at the service which our Healthcare assistants help and support with other fun activities like cooking, baking and using sensory equipment. Its these precious moments that are most rewarding and make it all worthwhile.

Overall, as a Healthcare Assistant at St Neots you will use your knowledge and skills to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.
